A proven model, region by region
The Saint-Louis medical region completed Étape 1 in 2021 with 398 facilities validated and uploaded to OpenStreetMap — in partnership with the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action, WHO, UNICEF, and OpenStreetMap Senegal.
That campaign is now the template for the rest of the country. Each region runs the same five-phase validation, then moves into evidence and policy work to keep the data maintained as national infrastructure.
